About Us
Sunkuda Campus
Since there was no institution of higher education in BitthadChir Rural Municipality of Bajhang
District before 2064 BS, the absence of educational opportunities after SLC created an urgent
social demand for establishment of a campus. Prior to the establishment of SC most of the
students of this District had to go Kailali/Kanchanpur. SC is a community based and non- profit
organization established solely with the view to provide higher education to the educationally
backward areas of Bajhang District.
SC has now become a popular community based campus in Bajhang District. Since its
Establishment SC has produced thousands of the students with sound academic skills who have
been serving in several aspects of life within the country. The campus is located in picturesque
and peaceful surroundings in the southern part of Sunkuda Market.
We take immense pride in declaring that SC is on an upward trajectory towards becoming an
educational hub, positioning itself as the foremost academic institution in the Bajhang District.
This remarkable progress is largely attributed to the dedication and innovation of our young and
talented faculty and students who continuously strive for excellence. Their unwavering
commitment to academic proficiency and skill development is shaping future generations and
contributing significantly to the betterment of society.
In light of our journey towards academic distinction and societal development, SC extends a
warm and sincere welcome to our esteemed community members, parents, students, and well-
wishers. We invite you to visit us, share your invaluable and innovative ideas, and extend your
support to our ongoing efforts. Together, hand in hand, we aspire to further enhance our position
as a truly exceptional institution in the realm of education. Your active involvement and
partnership are instrumental in realizing our vision of academic excellence and holistic
development for all.
Our vision is to elevate sunkuda campus into an academic excellence and community engagement.

Background of the program
The significance of higher education has evolved as one of the factors to lessen the rift between those who can only read and write and those who can apply education for their better livelihood; translate their skills for entrepreneurial and other aspects of income generation. People who have completed higher education are in the better half compared to those who do not have any education. With the same variables one can say that people are poor because they are exposed to a broad range of sources of instability, and not that they are exposed to them because of their circumstances. Thus, they talk about causes of poverty in terms of the elements that characterize it and not in terms of the processes that generated these characteristics. The general capabilities of those are poor and vulnerable refer to the abilities or skills that one person has in order to achieve good results in different areas special emphasis is placed on education. An acceptable equation on education defends that the lack of people’s capabilities in areas like health or nutrition or economic vulnerability are results of low educational status among them. Conversely, it is reasonable to ask to what extent this causal relationship takes this direction: in areas with a low level of public services, a lack of income could result in low education levels, poor nutrition. etc. For example: “the risks that poor people face as a result of their circumstances are the cause of their vulnerability” (World Bank, 2001: 36). Thus, higher education for individuals has placed its rationale high playing important roles in an individual’s life to shape his/her life in a better and meaningful way, thereby limiting vulnerability to the risks to dispensable elements.
Higher education is characterized as an important dimension for optimizing human well-being and reducing various socio-economic vulnerabilities. To the same regard, over the past years, higher level education has received much attention from the Government of Nepal. Government of Nepal being one of the signatories to Dakar Framework and Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) commits to attain universal primary education by 2015′. In addition, as per one of the commitments of the government, the World Declaration on Education for All which reaffirmed the notion of education as a fundamental human right and urged countries to intensify efforts to address the basic learning needs of all. The Framework for Action to Meet the Basic Learning Needs has defined targets and strategies to meet the basic learning needs of all by the year 2000 including the goals like: universal access to learning; a focus on equity; emphasis on learning outcomes; broadening the means and the scope of basic education; enhancing the environment for learning.
